When was your last backup?
When was the last time you did backups of your work? This includes your blog business plan, files that you need for your business and of course your blog database. Its only a matter of time before you loose your data or your hosting service looses your data.
Having a disaster recovery plan regardless of the size of the company is absolutely necessary. Its not a plan if things go wrong. Its a plan for when things go wrong. Too many people end up starting from scratch and never recovering the data that they once had. This can cause huge losses of income or worst yet putting you completely out of business.
Its never too late to start this by putting a plan in place. If your just starting out, get in the habit of doing this right now and doing regular backups of your data. If you have been blogging for a while and don’t do backups, I suggest you start immediately.
Updated: Just ran across this post from Shoe Money, so you can see why it’s important to backup.

I have been burned more than once on not backing up my websites. Let me tell you, this is a pain no one wants to go through. Once you set everything up its easy to just make it happen regularly. I do mine once a week at this point but thinking of changing to twice a week or daily.

Back ups have saved me more than once. I can’t imagine not having backups for all my sites as well as my important documents.
