The blog is a medium through which information is passed from the blogger to the reader. There are literally millions of blogs all over the Internet that pass along this tidbit of information and that interesting story. These blogs are often marketing through direct marketing, links, ads, etc… and indirect marketing, search engine results. But, it is the viral blog that assumes almost an artificial intelligence marketing scheme.
A viral blog is one that self markets. Self marketing is not something that can be learned or taught, it is something that happens. Taking a stand and backing up that stand with real information and real resources will shoot your blog from vexed to viral in no time at all.
- Respond to the readers- Without the readers, the blog would be nothing. If a reader takes the time to comment on your blog, return the favor and reply to that comment. If there is a link to a site in the comment, visit the website or blog and make it known that you have been there by signing a guest book or commenting on a posting. Readers that feel like they are appreciated will certainly boost the virility of a blog.
- Write about what people want to know- While there are many people who are interested in the mating patterns of the Venus fly trap, there are many more who want to know about the latest technological advances in computers or the health breakthroughs in the HIV/AIDS sector. Writing about the topics people want to read about will increase your chances of becoming viral, exponentially.
A viral blog is like the golden grail, the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Blogging has its moments of glory and realizing your blog is viral and self marketing, is one of those moments.
