The Possibility of Affiliate 2.0

When it comes to affiliate marketing, the world has become numb to the look and the feel of flashing banners and misplaced ads. The affiliate programs available, the ones that have been successful for many bloggers, are beginning to become so common that readers are no longer taking heed to the ads. With this step on the affiliate foot, ad companies are changing the way they look, feel and workplaces

Affiliate ads, currently, have the limit of flashing text and moving words, for most bloggers. But, you log into the main page of Yahoo and you see a totally different type of ad. The new ads include videos of real people and ads that are integrated with the desktop appearing as if the program is a real person on the screen of the computer. These new ads are at the heart of affiliate 2.0.

While larger companies are currently the ones that utilize these new, expensive ads. Google Adsense has begun the change with the addition of pay per click You Tube videos. Bloggers only need to choose the theme of the video player and the code can be embedded within the blogs pages.

For a blogger who concentrates on affiliate marketing, affiliate 2.0 means changing the way they market their blog. With the introduction of new video ads and the additional space and server power needed to house these videos, bloggers may find themselves housing fewer and fewer ads on their blog.

Another potential problem is the look of multiple video ads on one site. The space on a blog is limited to the right and/or the left hand side of the page. The affiliate 2.0 ads may be too large for the space available on the blog. These are all very real concerns for the blogger who wants to use this new affiliate marketing as part of their money making plan.
