Popular Posts on Success for your blog

Popularity ContestWith the roll out of the new and improved Success For Your Blog Theme I added a new section in the sidebar called Popular Posts. This is a list of the 10 most popular posts on the blog. It will change as the popularity of posts change. Its a great feature to have on your blog because it gives readers a quick view of what other readers like on the blog.

The Popular Posts section is handled by a Word Press Plug-in call Popularity Contest and was developed by Alex King. Alex puts out some really good plug-ins and I recommend you check out the plug-in page and see if you need any of this Word Press plug-in goodness. Go here to see them all including Popularity contest.

Back to the Popularity Contest Plug-in, there are some pretty nice features that you can set once you have the plug-in installed and activated. You will see the page under Options > Popularity once there you can tweak the settings to your liking.

Are you using this plug-in? If so share you like and dislikes. Leave a comment.

I use it (I think):) My blog designer installed all the plugins. Don’t know how much my visitors refer to it, but I think it’s a nice feature of a blog.

Mike, Speaking of your blog designer. I was on your blog earlier today and the design is very nice. I just wish I had more time to Golf and take advantage of your tips. :-)

I have tried using the Popularity Contest plugin on my blog but it refused to work. I’ve got people who got dirty with the codes and all, but in vain :(

I definitely think that it is good to highlight your popular posts. I have been considering the popularity contest plugin, but think that I would rather manually create a list that I would choose my popular posts. I want control in picking out what posts to highlight.
