NewsDoggy - new social news site with bloggers in mind

NewsDoggy

A new social news site was release today to help bloggers promote their stories. NewsDoggy.com is the latest social news service specifically design to help Bloggers get their stories out. The main difference between NewsDoggy and other large social news sites like digg.com is the scope. Digg has grown to a size that is staggering. When bloggers submit their stories there odds of getting noticed are slim. Often a story submitted to digg will get you just that one digg and never get enough momentum to make it to the front page. I’m certainly not saying that you shouldn’t submit your stories to digg. But why not submit your stories to another news site that your more likely to get some extra exposure and a better chance to make it to the front page and sustain the visibility longer.

Go and give it a try. That address again is http://www.newsdoggy.com

I like how the logo ties into the default pligg template but maybe a bit of a makeover would work wonders! Also, the name might not be too appropriate as I assumed it was a news site to post stuff about dogs!

Hmm I see that. Not sure why that happened. I have it set too resize to 48 X 48 so it may just be too big. :-( I think they made uploading gravatars too complicated also.

Thanks for taking a look David. Yea I want to do a more custom look but for now the default Theme appealed to me the most.

As for the name I’m just trying to use a name that is colorful and easy for people to remember.

    I appreciate the feedback.

It’s a nice take on a social news site. I like the design, a bit less cluttered than digg.
