Have you ever wanted to add a podcast to your blog but don’t have the first clue about how to go about doing it? Well your in luck. Today I was over at a pretty interesting blog for a Podcast called Marketing over Coffee, which I discovered from Twitter that Chris Brogan tweeted about (just an example how Twitter is very useful).

So I am checking out Marketing over coffee and think, that audio player they are using is pretty slick. I bet some of my readers would be interested in something like that. So I figured I’d go do a little research and see if its actually a plug-in then post about it here on Success For Your Blog.

I’ve recently found that if your looking for WordPress Plug-ins, its better to just go to the source, rather than try and Google it. So I headed over to WordPress.org and search around a bit and sure enough found the exact one I was looking for. The Plug-in, called Audio Player Wordpress plugin is by 1 Pixel Out is very well done. The documentation looks very complete and there is info on customizing and troubleshooting. If you decide to use it I would certainly give the author a couple bucks for an outstanding plug-in.

Need a table in your posts? Look no further than WP-Table. Wp-Table is a WordPress plug-in that makes adding a table to your posts a snap. Once you install the plug-in and activate you manage your table in the Admin section under Manage -> Tables. So what do these tables look like? Well I just so happen to have a nice example to show you. Here are the Big Ten Football conference standings.

With the roll out of the new and improved Success For Your Blog Theme I added a new section in the sidebar called Popular Posts. This is a list of the 10 most popular posts on the blog. It will change as the popularity of posts change. Its a great feature to have on your blog because it gives readers a quick view of what other readers like on the blog.

The Popular Posts section is handled by a Word Press Plug-in call Popularity Contest and was developed by Alex King. Alex puts out some really good plug-ins and I recommend you check out the plug-in page and see if you need any of this Word Press plug-in goodness. Go here to see them all including Popularity contest.

Back to the Popularity Contest Plug-in, there are some pretty nice features that you can set once you have the plug-in installed and activated. You will see the page under Options > Popularity once there you can tweak the settings to your liking.

There will be times when you just flat out don’t have anything to blog about. Or at least thats what it will feel like. Writers block is the bloggers worst enemy. But it doesn’t have to stop you from putting out really good content.

Part of the new Internet revolution is video. Everyone is putting video out there and the great thing about it is its shared. Once someone sticks something on YouTube it is free game to be embedded on Sites all across the Internet. This content can be gold for your blog. Why not share a little video of something your viewers will enjoy. And the great thing is there is even WordPress Plug-ins to make it easy.

If you are using WordPress you know that just pasting the video embedding code into your post doesn’t work. So what you have to do is go and grab a plug-in to make this happen. I use WPVideo Plug-in which you can get here. The English directions are at the bottom so scroll down to the bottom to get it installed and activated.

Read the read me file for the options and switches and how to embed the code in your Posts. Its really easy and straight forward though. The other great thing is the video isn’t hosted by you so bandwidth is practically nothing.

Today’s post is about a plug-in that delivers a powerful punch when writing your posts. We all no that images help deliver a message when reading but very few blogs are using images in their posts. Images also give your blog some flare and a little something to set it apart from the others.

For this I use a Word Press Plug-in called IImage Browser. IImage Browser is great because as your writing your post you can upload your images, get the code to embed your images, create thumbnails, change sizes and more. It is simple to install just make sure you follow the directions because in addition to copying the plug-in files to your Word Press plugin directory there is one other file that you have to upload to your wp-admin folder.

Don’t forget to use your alt and title tags also in the image code.

You can also use the same css code that I mentioned in this article about putting adsense ads in your posts. Rather than using a div tag you would insert class=”alignright” after img in the img tag. like wise you can use alignleft.
