Social Media I have to admit, I am not as social as I would like to be on sites like Twitter, MySpace, Stumble Upon and other social websites. I do however, try and answer all comments on Success For Your Blog and email other bloggers out there.

So this week I am going to try and get as social as I can and see if I can make some new quittances on Twitter. If you would like to join me, “Follow me” on Twitter and I will do the same. I signed up for Twitter about 6 months ago and never really did anything with it. As of Friday I’m following about 35 people and have started updating regularly. Now I am starting to understand why this is all the rage. Essentially you are inviting people to spy on you and just give them enough to keep them coming back for more. This has potential to be very addictive.

I just signed up for it today having only heard about it a couple of weeks ago. As you might guess I don’t get out much!

I don’t know if that’ll make me very interesting to follow. I quit my full-time job a month ago to eke out a living from blogging and also by counting buses and bicycles on a part-time basis.

Let me tell you that unless you don’t take that pain to really plunge in to these networks, you will end up just trying to be social. But once you get to know the benefits, probably you’ll go on to a log phase exploring all possibilities.

At least thats what happened to me.

Mani,

I think this is why is was unsuccessful at it early on. You really have to make it a concerted effort. Plus if you don’t enjoy it, it will seem too much like work. Right now I am enjoying it, I just have to make sure I don’t tear off more than I can chew.
