A comment about commenting
Bloggers, both new and experienced are trying to figure out how to handle commenting on heir posts. It would be easiest to just turn commenting off but that is the easiest way to kill your blogs community. For commenting on Success For Your Blog it is cut and dry. All comments are held in moderation until approved. I either approve them or delete them. I don’t bother with editing any comments or adding notes. I usually don’t mind a link in the comment if it is relevant r the comment adds value. More than that and it would be considered SPAM.
Like anything you have to revise your guidelines. Commenting is no different. If your getting hundreds of comments a day you may have to change the way you approve your comments as to not take up too much time.
So how do you moderate your comments on your blog?

Editing is one aspect which I too have been avoiding since long. Good article.

I’ve turned them off. My blog is not very popular, and all comments are spam. Which reminds me I’ve got to go delete 1000 spams right now (probably).

I moderate everybody’s first comments. Usually my repeat commenter’s never spam but if there is anything I do not like then I either delete or edit (very rare).

I think holding the comments in moderation is the best method, and this is what I’m going to use for my new blog.
Even if you get a ton of comments, I don’t think it should get too time consuming as long as you only do it once or twice a week. Anyway, we will see how it goes.

I Hope this turns out to be a good blog! It should give all newcomers a chance to submit comments, rather than spam it with more rubbish which is what some people choose to do, almost like a ‘blog plague’. I hope the comments submitted on here are both informative and interesting. Many thanks.
